About the Company

Our client, a well-established and highly respected Toronto law firm, is seeking a Litigation Law Clerk to join their team.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive clerical and legal support to lawyers on a variety of litigation matters
Prepare and organize pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, and other legal documents
Manage litigation files from commencement through resolution
Draft and file court documents and correspondence
Prepare and maintain limitation and procedural deadlines
Coordinate discoveries, examinations, motions, mediations, and hearings
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties
Conduct legal research and assist with document review and productions
Maintain organized electronic and physical files
Assist lawyers with trial preparation and other litigation-related matters

Requirements

4+years of experience as a Law Clerk in civil litigation
Strong knowledge of Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and court procedures
Experience with Superior Court and/or Federal Court matters
Strong drafting, organizational, and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team

Compensation

Salary up to $80,000, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

Manage litigation files and deadlines, coordinate court-related events, communicate with clients and other parties, conduct research, assist with document production, and support trial preparation.

Requirements

Requires at least four years of law clerk experience in civil litigation and strong knowledge of Ontario civil procedure and court processes. Candidates should have experience with Superior Court and/or Federal Court matters, strong drafting and organizational abilities, excellent communication and attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
