About the Company

Our client, a well-established and highly respected Toronto law firm, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal assistant to support lawyers on a variety of complex litigation matters.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to lawyers and their practice
Prepare, format, edit, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, motions, factums, and other legal documents
Manage lawyer calendars, appointments, meetings, and deadlines
Organize and maintain electronic and physical litigation files
Prepare and coordinate court filings, service, and other procedural requirements
Assist with preparation for discoveries, examinations, motions, mediations, and hearings
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties
Prepare and organize document productions and litigation materials
Track limitation periods, court dates, and other critical deadlines
Assist with general administrative duties and provide support to the broader team as required

Requirements

3+ years of Legal Assistant experience in a litigation environment
Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma
Strong knowledge of Ontario court procedures and litigation processes
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong proofreading and document formatting abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team

Compensation

Salary up to $78,000, commensurate with experience
Hybrid remote work schedule - 3 days in office
Comprehensive benefits package
