Position
Rundle Academy is seeking an experienced Learning Strategist to join our Academy team in a temporary role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the school Principal, Student Services team and Teachers to provide personalized academic support in the area of literacy support (reading comprehension, writing, reading fluency) and math (numeracy) intervention.
- Examine benchmark assessments and term reporting data to assess areas of below grade level achievement and lagging conceptual/skill development.
- Examine student data to strengthen the program, in consultation with administration and Teachers.
- Provide personalized interventions and work with the principal, homeroom Teacher, parents and the student services team to determine a plan to best meet the needs of identified students and help them to reach their potential.
- Perform supervision and staff coverage duties when assigned by administration.

- Class 4 driver’s licence is an asset.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Learning Strategist or supporting children with executive functioning concerns in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent engagement and skills when working with students one-one-one, in small groups and in large groups.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, and take initiative, when circumstances require.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
- Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff and student privacy.Technical and communication skills necessary to engage with stakeholders.
- Alberta Teaching Certificate would be considered an asset.
- Have a police information check completed with a vulnerable sector verification within the last 6 months
