Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology Position Summary
Russell Tobin is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) specializing in Oncology for opportunities across British Columbia. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to oncology patients within acute care, outpatient cancer clinics, and oncology treatment units while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment and management.
- Conduct patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other prescribed oncology treatments in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in condition.
- Educate patients and families regarding cancer diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and supportive care measures.
- Collaborate closely with oncologists, pharmacists, social workers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy to patients and their families throughout the cancer care journey.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
- Maintain compliance with oncology nursing standards, infection prevention practices, and organizational policies.
- Participate in palliative and end-of-life care planning when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum of one year of recent Oncology Nursing experience in an acute care, cancer center, or outpatient oncology setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Completion of or willingness to obtain relevant oncology certifications (e.g., Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Administration Certification) is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills.
- Experience administering and monitoring oncology treatments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to effectively support patients and families through complex treatment plans and care transitions.

- Schedule & Shifts: Full-time hours; Day, Evening, and Night shifts based on facility requirements
