Russell Tobin & Associates is hiring on behalf of one of its esteemed clients.
Job Title: Privacy Impact Assessment Specialist - Senior
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (Possible extension)
Client: Public Sector
Pay Rate: $90/hr - $105/hr [CAD]
Must have Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ health care experience conducting privacy assessments and reviews on medium to high complexity projects.
- Minimum 5 years direct operational level privacy experience in a health sector and/or IT environment or both.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing privacy policies and procedures, requirements, or controls.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience drafting and reviewing privacy requirements for data sharing agreements.
- Experience working with prescribed statuses is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Application Programming Interface (API) functionality and management.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Hospital Information System (HIS) infrastructure, design, and data flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop privacy policies and procedures.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments for low to high complex initiatives.
- May be required to support investigating privacy incidents, patient inquiries, and privacy requests of any kind.
- Identify and assess privacy risks.
- Provide privacy advisory support to business teams.
- Lead and/or participate in Agency, regional or provincial committees or project teams as the privacy Subject Matter Expert.
- Identify privacy requirements.
- Develop strong relationships with various internal and external partners to foster a culture of privacy.
- Support privacy program projects and activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Privacy Office.
- Develop and deliver privacy training for The Agency.
- Other duties as required.

Responsibilities
Develop privacy policies and procedures, conduct privacy impact assessments, identify risks and requirements, and advise business teams on privacy matters. Support incident investigations and privacy requests, contribute privacy expertise to committees and projects, build partner relationships, and deliver training while improving the Privacy Office’s programs and operations.
Requirements
Requires at least five years of healthcare privacy assessment and review experience on medium- to high-complexity projects, along with five years of operational privacy experience in a health-sector or IT environment. Also requires five years of experience developing privacy policies, procedures, requirements, or controls and drafting or reviewing data-sharing agreement requirements; familiarity with APIs and EMR or HIS infrastructure and data flows is expected, while experience with prescribed statuses is an asset.
