As a Quality Coordinator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for maintaining and imroving the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO standards. This role is responsible for processing, coordinating, and closing customer notifications and mill claims in a timely manner.

This position will be based out of our Winnipeg, MB location located at 1424 Willson Place.

Roles And Responsibilities

Process and close vendor/customer claims and control non‑conforming and quarantined material.
Maintain full material traceability
Assist in ensuring all staff are trained on requires Quality and Health and safety content. Maintain safety and quality training records.
Manage corrective actions using the 8D app.
Inspect inbound, in‑process, and outbound material.
Conduct internal ISO audits and support compliance and support ISO readiness across all locations.
Process first articles and production part approval process (PPAP) and maintain documentation.
Promote awareness of customer requirements across the organization.
Develop and deliver quality training.
Report QMS performance and support continous improvement opportunities.
All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Post secondary education in engineering or related field is preferred.
2+ years’ experience in quality assurance required.
Metals industry experience is required.
Proficiency in reading drawings is an asset.
Training in ISO concepts preferred.
Familiarity with LEAN and quality principles preferred.
Excellent computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with SAP is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be able to work independently and as part of a group.
Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
Detail oriented.
