We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Client Service Team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant experience in public accounting, a strong foundation in financial reporting and compliance, and excellent interpersonal skills to serve as a client-facing professional. Key Responsibilities: - Manage full-cycle accounting for a diverse portfolio of clients, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Prepare and review financial statements and journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
- Support clients with tax preparation, planning, remittances and compliance (corporate, personal, GST/HST, etc.)
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with professional standards to meet client reporting requirements
- Prepare and complete Compilation Engagement Reports (CERs) in accordance with required standards, ensuring compliance and clarity in client financial reporting
- Prepare various TForms and returns throughout tax season in support of remuneration planning, including T4/T5’s and personal tax returns
- Address client inquiries, request and collect supporting documents, and provide clear and timely responses
- Liaise with clients to gather required information, explain accounting issues, and recommend best practices
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support firm-wide accounting efficiencies
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations
- Ensure all client data is handled securely and confidentially in line with professional and legal standards
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in public accounting or a similar professional environment
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, CaseWare, TaxPrep, Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – client service orientation is essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Commitment to primarily in-office work with a collaborative team culture
