We are seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager/Leader with strong expertise in
electronic health-related projects, clinical software system deployment, project management, medication workflows, pharmacy and health records business processes, health system implementation and deployment, stakeholder engagement, risk and issue management, project planning and scheduling, quality management, Matrix organizational environments, Waterfall and Agile methodologies, project management software, and privacy and health information legislation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing projects and workstreams related to the development of a
Prescribing solution under the
Patients Before Paperwork (Pb4P) initiative, including stakeholder engagement, planning, management of issues, risks and service change requests, and ensuring successful and on-time deployment of workstreams.

Project Description
Patients Before Paperwork (Pb4P) focuses on making improvements to existing clinical workflows through modernizing approaches to care delivery and better connecting patients and providers to the province’s digital infrastructure, ultimately enhancing care provision for patients across the health system.
The
Prescribing portfolio, within the Pb4P initiative, aims to streamline the medication management process by enabling secure, direct transmission of prescriptions from clinicians to pharmacies, reducing manual steps and errors.
Key Responsibilities
The
Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects and workstreams related to the development of a
Prescribing solution, including:
- Stakeholder engagement.
- Project planning.
- Management of issues.
- Risk management.
- Management of service change requests.
- Ensuring successful and on-time deployment of workstreams.
- Coordinating project activities across stakeholders, vendors, clients and project teams.
- Supporting the development and implementation of health system business requirements.
- Managing project activities within Matrix organizational environments.
- Coordinating project deliverables and ensuring effective collaboration across project teams.
Required Skills
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience project managing electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience deploying clinical software systems.
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts, including project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, project and work package planning and scheduling, and quality management.
- Minimum 2–4 years’ knowledge of and/or experience with medication workflows and associated business processes within pharmacies, hospitals and health records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong collaboration skills, including coordinating tasks and ensuring that everybody works together effectively, including conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects in Matrix organizational environments.
- Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) and knowledge and understanding of the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
- Demonstrated project management software skills and experience, including MS Project, MS Teams, etc.
- Demonstrated experience working with various Project Management delivery methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
- Knowledge of pharmacy and/or medication workflows.
- Experience with health system business implementation and deployment projects.
- Experience liaising with customers/stakeholders where customer service was a key focus, including responding to queries and managing issues and risks.
Desired Skills
- College/University undergraduate degree in Health, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline from a recognized institution or equivalent experience – desired.
- Experience operating in highly political environments and across various organizational cultures.

Work Arrangement
Hybrid – Toronto, Ontario
The position is currently listed as
Hybrid. The resource will be required to work onsite according to the
Hiring Manager’s sole discretion.
Location: Up to
3 business days at the manager’s discretion.
Additional Assignment Terms Include
- The term of this Engagement Assignment is for 186 Business Days.
- There is an option to extend for up to an additional 253 days at the Agency’s discretion.
- The Engagement Assignment may be extended for unused Business Days at the Agency’s discretion.
- The resource will comply with the Agency’s policies and procedures.
- The resource will be issued an Agency laptop.
- The resource is expected to provide at least one additional monitor, an external keyboard and a mouse at their own expense.
- When working from their home location, the resource must have a private office space and is not permitted to work in an open communal space.
- Internet connection must be hard-wired and have suitable bandwidth to support the IT requirements of the role.
- If these home-office conditions cannot be met, the resource will transition to full-time in-office work, and the hybrid option will no longer be available.
- Agency systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario.
- Agency assets, including laptops and related equipment, cannot be removed from the province of Ontario without prior written approval from the Agency.
