Client: Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement – RQ11395

We are looking for a highly experienced UX Designer – Intermediate to contribute to complex digital products and projects for the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in user experience design, mobile-first and responsive design, user research, usability testing, service design, established design systems, prototyping, stakeholder communication, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces, conducting user research, developing wireframes and prototypes, iterating designs based on user testing, and collaborating closely with product owners, developers, clients, and other stakeholders.

Must Have

Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
3+ years of relevant experience in participating in complex projects (products) of different sizes, ensuring alignment to plans, best practices and incorporating user-centred design processes and Agile (Scrum) methodologies.
Must have Figma experience.
Expertise in UX software such as Just in Mind, InVision, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, and Zeplin. HTML5, CSS3, and JS skills (React, Angular, NodeJS), Azure DevOps are a plus.
Strong communication skills – lead meetings and present to stakeholders.
Prior experience with Service Design framework and established design systems.

Nice to Have

OPS or Public experience.
Knowledge of DABL (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live).

Description

Responsibilities

Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required.
Take a user-centred design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs.
Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes.

General Skills

Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance.
Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role, designing for web and mobile applications.
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools.
Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies.
Experience in designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience.
Experience conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Experience designing the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
Experience designing and delivering wireframes, user stories, user flows, user journeys, mock-ups and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
Experience facilitating the client's product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products and optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
Experience identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions.
Experience making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
Experience gathering user feedback to configure existing interfaces.
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities and client relationship management experience.

Experience And Skill Set Requirements

User Experience Design – 40%

Degree or diploma in graphic design; degree or certification in usability, human-computer interaction, and technical writing a plus.
Experience in facilitating User Research and Usability testing. Accessibility compliance testing is a plus.
Experience in facilitating User Research and Usability testing activities to produce such outputs as:

User Interview Topic Maps
User Interview Scripts
User Interview Synthesis (collection, aggregation and analysis) of written observations recorded during each interview
User Research Findings Report

Relationship Management – 20%

Demonstrated experience in communication and mediation skills with business teams and core team members to ensure Client projects (products) are progressing according to schedule.
Experience with strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects – Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live or similar delivery methodologies.
Ability to deliver on a (project) product with a balanced team (product owner, user experience designers, developers) by participating in Agile (SCRUM) delivery methodologies.

Technical Skills – 30%

Expertise in UX software such as Justin Mind, InVision, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, Figma, and Zeplin.
HTML5, CSS3, and JS skills (React, Angular, NodeJS) are a plus.

Soft Skills – 10%

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
