Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Building Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our commercial building. You will be working in tenant units as well as common areas, so professionalism, discretion, and a customer-first attitude are essential to this role.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors
- Dust furniture and surfaces
- Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers
- Wash windows, walls, and ceilings
- Clean building units while respecting tenants’ space and belongings
- Communicate courteously with tenants and staff, and respond to cleaning requests or concerns promptly
- Maintain the confidentiality of any tenant information, documents, or property encountered while working in units
- Report any maintenance, safety, or security concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Workers Awareness Certificate
- Previous cleaning experience required
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to plan and organize job tasks effectively
- Strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly demeanour
- Demonstrated integrity and the ability to respect confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety standards, including safe handling of cleaning products
