About the Position:

The Digital Marketing & Social Media Content Developer uses design, storytelling, and digital marketing to help existing and potential clients to discover services, programs, and opportunities that strengthen communities.

This position supports program marketing by turning program goals and complex information into clear, engaging and accessible marketing materials. They lead the creative development and day-to-day delivery of social media, digital advertising, CMS website content, newsletters and other digital communications. In addition, this position helps programs select effective channels, build stronger digital content and reach audiences where they increasingly seek information.

Working alongside the Strategic Marketing Lead, this role consults with internal teams, gathers requirements, recommends practical creative approaches and guides work from briefing through production, launch and review. Furthermore, they are also responsible for building internal capacity by helping program staff understand marketing and design basics and use approved tools and templates more effectively.

Reports to: Strategic Marketing Lead

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Supports program marketing by working with program teams to clarify objectives, audiences, timelines and desired outcomes and translate these needs into practical marketing plans and deliverables
Guides program marketing work from initial briefing through creative development, review, launch, and basic performance assessment

Recommends social media, digital advertising, web content, and other online approaches when they can reach audiences more effectively

Develops and delivers integrated digital campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, registration and participation in S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs and services; adapts campaign concepts and messages for different audiences, platforms and stages of engagement

Plans, creates, and manages organic and paid social media campaigns across approved platforms, including LinkedIn and Facebook in partnership with the Strategic Marketing Lead; develops campaign concepts, written content, graphics, images, and videos;

Recommends audiences and budgets, maintains schedules, monitors performance, and improves content or delivery based on results

Monitors engagement, coordinates appropriate responses, and identifies timely opportunities to extend program reach

Develops engaging, on brand creative materials in Canva and other approved design tools for social media, digital advertising, email, websites, presentations, digital displays and lockscreens

Leads the production and delivery of newsletters and targeted email campaigns; works with programs to strengthen submissions, improve presentation, maintain templates, and audience records
Writes, edits and proofreads clear and engaging content for social media, digital advertisements, websites, newsletters, presentations and program campaigns; adapts tone, length, and format for different audiences and channels
Edits photographs, illustrations, and basic video content for digital campaigns; prepares materials in the appropriate sizes and formats, maintains the image library, and supports photography and videography when required
Develops demonstrations, examples, quick guides, and reusable learning materials that help program teams improve the quality of requests, use approved templates, and take greater ownership of routine promotional work

Coordinates marketing and communications requests through the ticketing system, provides guidance for Canva, CMS website, newsletters and social media platforms, and maintains working files, documentation and campaign records

Education, Training and Experience:

Diploma or certificate in graphic design, digital marketing, communications, interactive media, web design or related discipline

Minimum of three years of relevant experience

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

Experience creating graphic design materials, managing organic and paid social media, maintaining CMS websites, and producing newsletters or email campaigns

Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Envoke or a comparable email marketing platform

Experience with social media platforms, website analytics, accessibility, and search engine optimization

Experience developing and/or delivering practical training, demonstrations or user guides

Experience in motion graphics, video editing, photography and image enhancement
Knowledge of creative production for social media, digital advertising, websites, email and selective print use
Knowledge and experience on organic and paid social media, including campaign planning, audience selection, budget monitoring, scheduling, engagement management, performance tracking and content improvement
Knowledge of CMS website management, accessible web content, page testing and routine troubleshooting
A portfolio that demonstrates relevant design and digital campaign work is required

Job Skill and Abilities:

Strong graphic design skills, including typography, colour, layout, and composition

Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex program information into clear, engaging and action-oriented content for different communities and channels 
Strong inquiry skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and guide work from concept to completion
Ability to explain marketing and design concepts to staff with different levels of experience and develop useful training materials
Ability to exercise creative curiosity and sound judgment
Ability to support a digital first direction while considering accessibility, audience preferences, brand standards, privacy and organizational requirements
