Role Description This full time on-site and emergency response Security Guard role is based in Burlington, ON and involves maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring premises, conducting regular patrols, controlling access points, and responding to alarms or incidents in a timely and professional manner. The Security Guard will observe and report suspicious activities, document events and incidents accurately, and follow established protocols and emergency procedures. The role also involves interacting with building occupants and visitors, providing directions and assistance, and delivering courteous customer service while upholding Safeguard’s standards and client requirements. Applicants for this position should be able to respond quickly to the site when call out.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to communicate clearly, manage conflicts, and interact respectfully with clients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess skills in Physical Security, including patrolling, access control, and incident response to maintain safety across assigned locations.
- Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in Personnel Security and Private Security practices, such as identity verification, safeguarding assets, and adhering to security policies.
- Candidates should have the ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and follow detailed procedures and protocols.
- Candidates should hold relevant provincial security guard licensing in Ontario and meet legal eligibility requirements for private security work.
- Candidates should be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and be available for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields is an asset, and familiarity with incident reporting tools or basic computer skills is beneficial.
The starting wage for this position is $19.00 per hour.
