Original job description

ROLE: INSIGHTS ANALYST, SOCIAL MEDIATEAM: THE KITCHEN NORTH AMERICALOCATION: TORONTO (HYBRID)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Kitchen brings together a range of disciplines and capabilities. It’s a team of creatives, producers, data analysts and social experts working together to deliver remarkable ideas that live in a variety of mediums, from everything from social to TV. This team moves at the speed of culture. It is built to respond to trends and events as they happen, coming up with the ideas that transcend social media to capture the spirit of the moment, earn media impressions, and get the country talking.

Are you ready to join an award-ambitious team that's making waves in the advertising industry? Our incredible team has been recognized internationally by industry giants like Cannes, One Show and was named Campaign's Global ‘In-House Agency of The Year’, further solidifying our position as a leader in the industry. Join us and be a part of something truly special - a team that's dedicated to creating ground-breaking work and pushing limits.

At The Kitchen, we're not just looking for individuals who want to be a part of the advertising industry - we're looking for trailblazers who are ready to lead the way to the next big thing! We want individuals who are passionate about producing award-winning work and have an innate drive to their craft and are eager to generate innovative ideas both within and outside of the brief.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As The Kitchen’s Insights Analyst, you’re an expert in social listening who can turn raw conversation data into clear, actionable insights. You run and maintain listening scans across brand, campaign, and newsroom topics and know how to translate volume, sentiment, themes, and emerging conversations into takeaways that matter: what’s happening, why it matters, and what we should be watching next.

Beyond listening scans, you look for patterns across culture, identifying spaces and moments where the brand has a right to win. You use those insights to help answer briefs shared by Strategy, working collaboratively to bring listening and cultural signals into the development of ideas.

You work closely with your manager, Strategy, and Creative to bring these signals into briefs and creative decisions. You bring your own curiosity and interests to the role, but at its core, your job is understanding data, converting it into actionable insights, and knowing how to distinguish what’s meaningful from what’s simply noise.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

SOCIAL LISTENING: You keep your finger on the pulse of online conversation. You have experience with at least one social listening tool and understand how to measure sentiment, monitor conversation volume, identify themes, and track emerging topics. You run and maintain listening scans across brand, campaign, and newsroom needs, translating raw conversation data into clear, actionable insights for the broader team.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: You have experience in at least one major social media management or listening suite (i.e. Talkwalker, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.). You have an excellent understanding of the insights and reporting capabilities available within these programs and know how to apply them effectively to your work.
INNOVATION: You’re aware of and constantly thinking about new ways to track and understand conversations online. You stay informed and at the leading edge of digital media, culture, and emerging social platforms.
COLLABORATION: You work closely with Strategy and Creative to help shape ideas based on real conversation patterns and listening insights. This role goes beyond reporting data - you actively partner cross-functionally to bring insights into briefs and the creative process. You’re happy to analyze trends others bring to the table, aren’t precious or protective of your work, and are willing to work across functions to help others succeed.
BRIEF & STAKEHOLDER PARTNERSHIP: You own and collaborate on the listening component of briefs, helping determine where social listening can provide meaningful answers and insights. You set clear expectations with the broader team around what our listening tools can and can’t support and help educate stakeholders on how to scope requests accordingly.
IDEATION: You enjoy the creative process. You might not consider yourself a “creative” by role or title, but you enjoy being part of the ideation process and contributing ideas. You look for patterns across culture and identify spaces and moments where brands have a right to participate, using insights to help inform and strengthen creative thinking.
REPORTING: You know how to turn data into a clear story. You understand the metrics and measures of social media and know how to translate volume, sentiment, themes, and performance data into meaningful takeaways. You can clearly articulate what’s happening, why it matters, and what the team should consider or watch next.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

4+ years relevant experience working in a related role or capacity. You have experience in digital/social media with a proven track record of insights that have turned into responsive content or PR-planned ideas.
Extensive knowledge and work experience in social media, with experience across all the major platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, as well as Pinterest)
You’re culturally connected – with a keen sense of what’s going on in online culture.
You understand the brand audiences/targets and digital media targeting.
You’re technologically savvy, with an understanding of the tools used to mine insights and monitor social performance.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $60,000–$75,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of The Kitchen’s total rewards program.

The Kitchen and Kraft Heinz, are committed to Equal Employment Opportunity and to attracting and retaining the most qualified employees regardless of race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age or disability
