Original job description

Saltworks Technologies is a leading Canadian cleantech company solving two of the world's most pressing challenges: water sustainability and critical minerals supply. We design and build advanced industrial water treatment and lithium refining systems for global leaders in semiconductors, mining, automotive, and industrial processing.

Saltworks is a 2025 Technology Fast 50 company and EY Entrepreneur of the Year award winner. We lead our industry in adopting and developing AI across our products, projects, and operations. Join us and build skills defining the next era of engineering and industrial systems.

The role:

Saltworks is seeking a Junior Electrical Project Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, plant builds, or commissioning. If you're analytical, detail-oriented, and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you'll lead the electrical scope of projects from initial design through to commissioning. With full responsibility for planning, budgeting, and execution, this hands-on role is an opportunity to grow into a project leader while making a real difference in advancing sustainable technologies.

In this role, you will:

Lead the electrical scope of industrial water treatment projects.
Collaborate with design, production, supply chain, and QA teams to ensure high-quality execution.
Prepare work packages, installation instructions, and materials ahead of production schedules.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to specify and procure components.
Develop and execute commissioning and testing plans both in-house and onsite.
Contribute to repeatable design workflows and support innovation, pilot projects, and new product development.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and strong internal relationships.
Provide hands-on support during commissioning and troubleshooting.
Travel occasionally to customer sites for start-up and commissioning.
Grow into a subject matter expert while sharpening your technical and project leadership skills.

You will be a great fit if you have:

A degree in Electrical Engineering.
Registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
1 - 4 years of relevant experience in an industrial or plant-based environment.
Proven ability to deliver engineering projects in fast-paced settings.
Strong communication skills and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of Canadian or US Electrical Codes.
Project management experience is an asset.
Experience with electrical schematic design tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD) and/or medium voltage applications is a plus.

Why join Saltworks?

We have an outstanding team that is passionate about innovation and solving key environmental challenges facing our planet.

Join a team pioneering the future of water and lithium. Some of our customers include world-leading electric vehicle makers, semiconductor firms, mining companies, agriculture firms, and more!

We offer:

A collaborative and rewarding work environment.
A diverse and inclusive team that is key to our success.
A competitive compensation package that includes medical, dental, vision, RRSP matching, life insurance, AD&D coverage, and an education allowance.
A culture that supports safety, innovation, learning, diversity, and teamwork.
Fun social activities and company events.

How to apply:

If you would like to be a part of a globally recognized team, please submit your resume (cover letters are not required).

While we sincerely appreciate all applications, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. All applications are considered confidential.

Kindly, no recruiters.

Salary: $70,000 to $95,000 per year (negotiable based on your experience, qualifications, and internal equity).

Location: 13800 Steveston Hwy, Richmond, BC V6W 1A8
