Original job description

Job Purpose

Provide equipment/systems installation services and technical assistance to Sames’ sales staff and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide service and repairs and estimates onsite or remotely in a timely manner
Technically support our customers and sales staff onsite, over the phone, or through email
Account management: visiting accounts to ensure our equipment is performing at its highest efficiency
Catalog & maintain demonstration equipment
Provide manual and automated paint & dispense systems installation, commissioning, trouble-shooting and training activities (supervision and hands-on) at customer facilities
Inspect and analyze malfunctioning equipment (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems), document findings, determine source of problem and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective actions, and coordinate problem resolution
Occasional coordination and supervision of subcontractors on jobsite
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Assist with Sames training schools
Prepare reports as required by the technical manager
Assisting other departments as needed; miscellaneous tasks as needed
Requires travel to domestic and international sites up to 70%, including on short notice and reactive urgent service

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Mechanical and electrical knowledge, preferably through work-related experience
Mechanical aptitude: ability to master new products and assembly tools
Able to work safely with hand and power tools; possess good hand and eye coordination
Able to travel as required (valid driver’s license and valid passport)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to read and write in English (French is a plus); good communication and organizational skills
Outstanding punctuality and organizational skills
Problem solving capabilities
Team driven work ethic
Mission to serve with a sense of urgency
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management

Formal Education and/or Training Required

High school diploma or general education diploma

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

Standing, sitting, bending, lifting (50 lbs.)
Exposure to solvents, paints, and some hazardous materials
Working with machines and daily use of hand/power tools
Wearing personal protective equipment when required

Know how to identify and react in dangerous situations
Know how to analyze priority environmental and safety aspects and implement relevant actions
