The Unstructured Data AI-Readiness Product Owner will be a key driver of this mission, owning the full lifecycle of products that govern unstructured and semi-structured data to ensure Sanofi's GenAI and Agentic AI products are built on a solid, governed data foundation.
This role sits within the Data, AI and Governance Platforms organization and reports directly to the Head of Data Governance Products Line.
*Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite - required. *
Main Responsibilities:
Product Vision & Strategy
- Own the end-to-end product vision, discovery, roadmap, and strategy for unstructured / semi-Structured Data Governance products and related tools.
- Support design extension of Sanofi's AI-Ready Data Framework to unstructured / semi-structured data sources and align product direction with developed standards.
- Act as the key decision-maker and business-accountable owner for delivering value to internal customers and stakeholders.
Backlog & Delivery
- Define, refine, and prioritize the product backlog in close collaboration with engineering, data architecture, and business teams.
- Translate business and governance requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with Agile Delivery Leads and development squads to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of product increments.
- Drive continuous improvement across the product development lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, data governance teams, and technical delivery teams.
- Engage with Data Management Leads (DMLs), Data & AI platform teams, and data consumers to gather requirements and validate solutions.
- Communicate product progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to senior leadership including the Head of Data Governance Product Line.
Data Governance & AI Readiness
- Ensure products support the operationalization of AI-Ready Data standards for unstructured and semi-structured content (Sharepoint, technical docs, formats such as PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, images, audio/video).
- Drive adoption of governance controls across unstructured data processing pipelines, including data cataloging, metadata extraction, data quality checks, and risk classification.
- Collaborate with Data Architecture and AI Platform teams to ensure seamless integration with platforms such as Snowflake, AWS S3, OneMesh, and downstream AI systems.
- Champion the application of least-privilege access principles and data security standards across governed data assets.
Product Performance & Adoption
- Define and track product KPIs and adoption metrics (e.g., via the AI-Ready Data Adoption KPI Dashboard).
- Use data-driven insights to inform prioritization decisions and demonstrate product value.
- Support change management and user enablement to drive adoption across Sanofi's business units.
About YouRequired Qualifications:
- BS - Data Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or related field - required.
- 5+ years of experience in digital product management
- Demonstrated experience owning products in a data, AI, or analytics domain, with a track record of delivering measurable business value
- Familiarity with unstructured and semi-structured data governance concepts, including metadata management, data cataloging, data classification, and access control frameworks
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional squads, including engineering, architecture, and UX teams
- Knowledge of GenAI, Agentic AI, or modern data platforms (Snowflake, AWS S3, data catalogs) is a strong advantage
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industry is an advantage
Required Skills and Competencies
a) Technical Skills
- Solid working understanding of unstructured data pipeline technologies, cloud storage frameworks, data governance principles such as data cataloging, and metadata capture, data quality, data risk controls, enabling credible engagement with engineering and architecture teams without being a hands-on developer.
- Ability to drive 0 to 1 product design and build decisions by conducting user research, defining personas, and collaborating with UX/UI Designers to ensure governance workflows are intuitive for data stewards and business users.
b) Functional Skills
- Ability to autonomously lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and review ceremonies across a complex, multi-stakeholder governance product portfolio, fostering a culture of transparency and iterative delivery.
- Experience in Data-Driven Decision Making, with demonstrated consistently use of KPI dashboards and adoption metrics to guide prioritization, identify governance gaps, and demonstrate product value to stakeholders.
- Ability to navigates a broad stakeholder landscape - including Data Management Leads, Data stewards, platform teams, data architects, and senior leadership - to align on product direction and manage competing priorities with clarity.
c) Product Ownership
- Understands how unstructured data governance enables Sanofi's GenAI and Agentic AI use cases, and uses this context to balance governance rigor with business agility in prioritization decisions.
- Embeds quality throughout the product lifecycle - from acceptance criteria through to post-launch monitoring - ensuring governance products like AIRA produce reliable, audit-ready outputs.
- Steers products through all lifecycle phases - from discovery and validation through to growth and sustain - making deliberate investment decisions across the Unstructured Data Governance portfolio.
- Takes full accountability for the vision, roadmap, backlog, and outcomes of the governance product suite, operating with high autonomy while contributing to the maturation of product management practices within the team.
- Develops credible forward-looking views on delivery timelines, capacity needs, and adoption projections to support informed investment decisions at the portfolio level.
- Places the needs of data stewards, DMLs, and AI product teams at the center of every product decision, maintaining continuous feedback loops to reduce friction and increase trust in governance tools.

The salary range for this position is:
127,000.00 - 177,000.00 (Includes target bonus)
