Overview of the role :

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Operator, Packaging for ten (10) existing opportunities within our organization. You'll discover a stimulating atmosphere that fosters your professional growth in a clean and safe environment. Reporting to the Supervisor, Packaging, the Packaging Operators will be responsible for the essential operation and troubleshooting of Packaging equipment

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $27.25/hour

There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $30.25/hour.

Shift: This is a floating position consisting of three (3) 12‑hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours.

Available shifts include:

Four (4) Night Shift Positions:

Sunday to Tuesday 5:00pm–5:00am or 6:00pm–6:00am
Wednesday to Friday 5:00pm–5:00am or 6:00pm–6:00am

Six (6) Day Shift Positions:

Thursday to Saturday 5:00am–5:00pm or 6:00am–6:00pm

Please Note: Employees will remain on their assigned shift (Days or Nights); however, the days worked each week may vary based on operational requirements. A minimum of three (3) weeks' notice will be provided for schedule changes.

How you will make contributions that matter:

Ensures quality and sanitation standards are met by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Assurance, and HACCP
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible
Ensures the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resources
Communicates with the Leadhand/Back up Lead hand and Packaging Supervisor to monitor and maximize operational efficiencies
Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
Report urgent equipment problems in a timely manner
Ensures that safe conditions exist always within the work environment; adhere to safe work procedures (rotations, hazard reporting)
Flexibility to work shifts outside the normal shift when require
Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards;
Other duties as assigned

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Experience in food manufacturing or packaging, preferably dairy manufacturing
Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting abilities
Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily
Ability to function independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated strong documentation and record keeping
Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative and work well under pressure

Operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment while following Good Manufacturing Practices, quality assurance requirements, HACCP, and standard operating procedures. Handle materials and products, report equipment issues, maintain a safe work environment, and coordinate with packaging leads and supervisors to support operational efficiency.

Requirements

A secondary school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with food or packaging manufacturing experience, preferably in dairy manufacturing.
