Brief Description

As a Senior Advisor, you will partner with members to understand their financial goals and deliver personalized advice and solutions that support their financial well-being. Responsible for an assigned portfolio, the role deepens member relationships through proactive engagement, identifies opportunities to meet both short- and long-term needs, and provides expertise across complex lending, investments, mutual funds, and everyday banking services. The Senior Advisor contributes to team success by achieving SASCU's sales and service objectives while delivering an exceptional member experience.

What You'll Do (key Responsibilities)

Partner with members at all stages of their life, providing advice on a full range of deposit and investment products (including new personal and business accounts, cards, term deposits, registered products, and mutual funds), and associated services for an assigned portfolio.
Partner with members at all stages of their life, providing advice on personal and small business lending products and services (including mortgages, personal loans, lines of credit, MasterCard application and associated insurance products).
Interview loan applicants, analyzes financial information, assess credit relating to loan requests and grants loans within approved lending limits, make recommendations to Centralized Credit.
Deepen relationships with an assigned portfolio of members through regular review, identification of opportunities, and personalized contact.
Identify and pursue opportunities within the assigned portfolio and through internal referrals, deepening member relationships and connecting members with the appropriate SASCU specialists to ensure their full cycle financial needs are met. Service and manage estate accounts within an assigned portfolio.
Undertake assigned administrative duties including regular and ad hoc reporting, audits and preparing routine correspondence.
Contribute and collaborate with others to ensure the collective success of the branch team; take a lead role in providing support through sharing of knowledge and peer-to-peer coaching.Perform duties of other positions within the branch team, up to and including duties of the branch manager, as required.
Build team capability and continuity by training, mentoring, and supporting new employees in the responsibilities and expectations of the role.
Champion the SASCU Member Experience by leading through example and contributing to a positive, welcoming environment where every member feels valued, understood and supported.
Represent SASCU within the community by delivering financial education presentations, participating in community events, and building relationships that support member and business growth.

What You'll Bring (qualifications)

2 years of post-secondary education or equivalent. 4 – 5 years of progressive financial services experience including cash handling, investments, and lending services.
CUIC 185: Credit Union Products & Services.
CUIC 240: Fundamentals of Financial Planning.
CUIC 210: Consumer and Residential Mortgage Lending.
Registered as a Mutual Funds representative or if not registered, registered as a Mutual Funds representative within 6 months of commencement of the position:

Enrolled in an applicable course (such as CIFC from the IFSE Institute (preferred) or IFC from the Canadian Securities Institute) upon, or prior to, commencement of the position.
