As a
Senior Insurance Advisor, you will supporting a capable, accountable team that delivers trusted advice, protects clients, and creates consistently strong service experiences. Through coaching, sound judgement, and hands-on insurance expertise, you will ensure insurance activities meet regulatory, insurer, and company requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Support a capable, accountable team that consistently meets service, technical, and professional expectations through effective onboarding, coaching, feedback, and timely performance support.
- Create a culture of professionalism, ethical conduct, and accountability by modelling sound judgement, accuracy, appropriate documentation, and fair treatment of clients while ensuring their information is appropriately used and protected.
- Maintain compliant insurance practices and reduce regulatory and conduct risk by ensuring team members operate within delegated authority and regulatory requirements, while identifying and escalating compliance concerns or breaches.
- Ensure clients receive accurate and appropriate insurance solutions by overseeing and processing ICBC Autoplan, private auto, recreation, travel, and other general insurance transactions.
- Ensure clients receive consistent, informed insurance advice by guiding Insurance Advisors through complex coverage and placement decisions and ensuring key coverage terms, limitations, and client responsibilities are clearly explained and documented.
- Maintain effective team practices by staying informed of changes to insurance products, insurer requirements, procedures, legislation, regulation, and industry practices and working with management to translate those changes into day-to-day operations.
- Protect clients and SASCU by conducting or coordinating regular file and transaction reviews that confirm accuracy, completeness, appropriate coverage, insurer eligibility, documentation, and compliance.
- Improve quality and reduce recurring errors by identifying trends, addressing deficiencies, and strengthening processes and employee knowledge.
- Resolve escalated client concerns effectively by supporting or handling complaints, service concerns, and coverage issues, ensuring matters are appropriately documented and escalating material concerns to management when required.
- Strengthen operational effectiveness by balancing team leadership with hands-on support, improving consistency, simplifying processes, and reducing errors.
- Support regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations, while maintaining evidence of accountabilities through records of quality reviews, coaching, complaints, compliance activities, and corrective actions.
- Performs all other Insurance Advisor responsibilities and other related duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Level 2 Insurance License, or Level 1 license and successful completion of Level 2 licensing within 6 months.
- 3 years of ICBC Autoplan experience and strong working knowledge of private auto and personal lines insurance.
- Advanced knowledge of recreation and travel insurance products, underwriting requirements, client disclosure, and documentation standards, with the technical expertise to support others.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory and professional obligations of licensed insurance professionals in BC, including Insurance Council requirements.
- Senior broker, supervisory, team lead, or comparable leadership experience is an asset.

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position working primarily out of the Salmon Arm Branch, but travel to Enderby will be required occasionally to support staff training, audits, and other business requirements.
