We are looking for a Project Engineer or Technical Project Manager for hardware design projects (PCBs, RF, mixed-signal circuits, etc.) to join our team in the Montreal region (QC)!

Role & responsibilities:

The Project Lead Digital-Analog Designer will be leading a cross-functional team of hardware designers from conception to validation and integration of mixed signal (Digital-Analog & RF) electronics units used in satellites and other space-based systems.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Lead a hardware design team for space products
Coordinate a cross-functional team of members of various skills: RF, systems, power, digital, manufacturing, structure, packaging, EMC, and thermal, etc.
Responsible for leading a team to deliver on program cost, schedule, and technical requirements
Plan and schedule with various specialties (structure, thermal, packaging, manufacturing, quality assurance, etc.) the necessary reviews for the various deliverables
Oversee procurement production tasks to ensure cost and schedule are met
Prioritize the team tasks and goals to meet program milestones
Provide and communicate understanding of the programmatic aspects of a program to the technical team
Lead sub contractual activities and support new business proposal opportunities
Report on staffing levels to program manager
Assess risk and make risk-based decisions in collaboration with management and technical team throughout program lifecycle to ensure program objectives are met
Ensure Digital/Analog team follow quality and reliability standards
Support digital department improvement initiatives
Guide junior members and new employees
Coordinate with technical leads and program managers the conversion of system level requirements into electronic unit level requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent
10+ years experience designing processors, high-speed or mixed signal PCBs
3+ years experience in leadership roles and demonstrated success leading electronics development teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals from start to finish
Understanding of electronic circuits and communication protocols
Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes
Exposure to RF design, mixed signal, signal processing, high-speed or motor control design
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French
Ability to lead group discussions, strong interpersonal and conflict management skills
Cost and schedule planning experience
Knowledge in Agile methodology (PSPO, Management 3.0, Scrum, Agile at scale)
Knowledge and experience with Excel spreadsheets, JIRA, MS Access, or other such tools/software languages
Ability to coach and supervise junior members and interns

Rôle et responsabilités :

Le/La Lead Ingénieur/concepteur dirigera une équipe de concepteurs hardware/électroniques multidisciplinaire qui travaillent à l’élaboration, l’implémentation et la validation de matériels et d’unités électroniques complexes, pour des fins d’utilisation dans des systèmes satellitaires et spatiaux.

Responsabilités principales:

Diriger une équipe de conception d’unités digitales-analogiques complexes de produits aérospatiaux
Coordonner une équipe multidisciplinaire de champs de compétence tels que RF, systèmes, puissance, numérique, traitement de signaux, production, structure, packaging, EMC, et thermique, etc.
Diriger l’équipe selon les cédules, coûts et requis définis
Planifier des tâches et livrables de l’équipe, ainsi que des différentes revues techniques
Faire les suivis de l’achat des composantes et de la production afin de rencontrer la cédule et les coûts
Établir les priorités de l’équipe afin de rencontrer les objectifs établis
Assurer la communication et la compréhension des aspects programmatiques du programme à l’équipe technique
Diriger des sous-contrats et supporter des soumissions vers de nouvelles opportunités économiques
S’assurer de bien communiquer les besoins en ressources techniques
S’assurer que l’équipe applique les standards de qualité requis et suit les processus d’affaires de la compagnie
Supporter les améliorations continues et nouvelles initiatives de l’ingénierie
Coacher les membres juniors ou nouveaux employés
Coordination avec les leads techniques, la conversion des requis de système vers des requis d’unité électronique

Qualifications requises :

Baccalauréat génie électrique, génie informatique, ou équivalence.
10+ ans d’expérience dans la conception de processeur, de circuits digitaux-analogiques, de circuits de contrôle moteur, ou autres
3+ ans d'expérience dans une position de leadership avec expérience de mener avec succès un projet du début à la fin d’un projet
Compréhension de circuits électroniques et de protocoles de communications variés
Connaissances des processus de fabrication de circuits imprimés (PCB)
Exposition à la conception de circuits RF, traitement de signaux haute-vitesse et contrôle moteur sont des atouts
Excellente communication orale et écrite en Français et Anglais
Habilité à diriger les discussions de groupe, solides capacités interpersonnelles et de gestion de conflit
Expérience de gestion des coûts et de cédule
Connaissance de méthodologies Agile (PSPO, Management 3.0, Scrum, Agile at scale)
Connaissances et expérience avec des logiciels ou langages tels que : Excel, Python, JIRA, MS Project, etc.
Habilité à coacher et superviser une équipe
