Position Title: Assistant Quality Manager

Who We Are

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.

As part of this project, we are currently looking for an Assistant Quality Manager to join our team.

What You Will Do

Support the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the Project Quality Management System (QMS).
Assist in ensuring project activities comply with quality requirements, procedures, and project objectives.
Coordinate and monitor quality-related activities during design, construction, and handover phases.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP).
Drive the development and execution of Quality Inspector Daily Report (QIDR) to ensure inspection and testing are confirmed and verified in a timely manner.
Manage the development and execution of Hold point schedule and submittal of two week look-ahead.
Drive the implementation of test equipment fitness for duty management process.
Support internal and external audits, including tracking findings, corrective actions, and closeout activities.
Prepare and maintain quality reports, records, and project documentation.
Assist in managing non-conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive the development, support the review and implementation and closeout of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and material compliance requirements.
Setup and chair stakeholder meetings to ensure collaborate with project, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
Monitor quality performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
Assist with the verification of quality requirements for procured materials, equipment, and services.
Promote a culture of quality and provide guidance on quality-related processes and best practices.
Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Experience You Will Bring

Certified Engineering Technologist registered in the Province of Ontario, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8+ years of experience in a Quality Coordinator, Quality Specialist, Lead Quality Inspector, or similar quality-focused role.
Experience working in infrastructure, specifically transportation or heavy civil is considered an asset.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
Internal Auditor certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
Experience with infrastructure, transit, rail, bridge, road, or highway construction projects is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Canadian industry standards and quality management practices.
Valid Driver's License.
Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality work.
