Position Title: Final Lining Assistant Manager
Who We Are
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of this project, we are currently looking for a Final Lining Assistant Manager to join our team.

- Assist in managing daily construction operations related to waterproofing, rebar reinforcement installation, formwork systems, embedded items, concrete placement, curing and finishing activities. Verify that all those are constructed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Survey, Quality, Safety, and subcontractor teams to ensure final lining works are completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Monitor production progress and support the development of short-term work plans and look-ahead schedules.

- Assist in resolving field issues related to constructability, sequencing, access constraints, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate material, equipment, labour, and subcontractor resources required to support final lining activities.
- Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure inspections, testing, and documentation requirements are completed.
- Participate in planning and coordination meetings and provide updates on construction progress, risks and constraints.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is executed in accordance with project safety requirements and industry best practices.
- 8+ years of construction experience supporting underground, tunnelling, heavy civil, concrete, or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Experience self-performing cast-in-place concrete final lining, tunnel arch forms, station concrete works or other permanent underground structural works.
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, field crews, and construction activities in a complex project environment.
- Understanding of waterproofing systems, reinforcement installation, formwork systems, concrete placement, and finishing activities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and construction schedules.
- Knowledge of quality control processes, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and construction documentation requirements.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and coordination within active tunnel or underground environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing construction challenges.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and experience working within large construction projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
Compensation: $125,000 - $144,000 annually. The listed salary range reflects potential base pay and considers factors such as experience, education, and training. Each candidate is evaluated individually and offers toward the higher end may be extended to those with exceptional qualifications.
