Who We Are
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of this project, we are currently looking for a Senior Materials Coordinator to join our team.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate the receipt, tracking, storage, and distribution of construction materials required to support subway extension project activities.
- Maintain material tracking logs and provide regular updates on material status, delivery schedules, and inventory levels.
- Work closely with Construction, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure materials are available to support planned work and meet project requirements and standards.
- Monitor upcoming construction activities and identify potential material shortages, delivery delays, or inventory concerns.
- Coordinate material deliveries to site and verify receiving documentation, packing slips, and quantities received.
- Assist with material inspections and ensure materials are stored and handled in accordance with project and manufacturer requirements.
- Support the tracking and resolution of damaged, missing, incorrect, or non-conforming materials.
- Maintain material records and documentation to support project quality and traceability requirements.
- Coordinate with site supervision to ensure materials are issued to the field in alignment with construction priorities and schedules.
- Participate in planning and coordination meetings to provide updates on material availability and readiness.
- Perform inventory counts and support warehouse and yard organization activities as required.
- Ensure all material management activities are carried out in accordance with project safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- 6+ years of experience in materials coordination, warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, procurement support or construction project coordination.
- Experience supporting large civil, transportation, infrastructure or tunneling construction projects.
- Understanding of construction materials, delivery processes, inventory control, and material tracking practices.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including construction teams, suppliers, procurement professionals, and subcontractors.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, material take-offs, and project schedules.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and escalate material-related issues in a timely manner.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to supporting field operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and experience working within active construction environments.
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000 annually. The listed salary range reflects potential base pay and considers factors such as experience, education, and training. Each candidate is evaluated individually and offers toward the higher end may be extended to those with exceptional qualifications.
- Comprehensive health and dental benefits and RRSP matching plans.
- The opportunity to work on one of the most exciting rail projects in Toronto.
- A wide array of learning and development opportunities.
