A Regional Operations Manager is a key leadership position responsible for the achievement of their assigned region’s overall performance, including financial success. A Regional Operations Manager will help us fulfill our core purpose of “Deliver Extraordinary Experiences” and will demonstrate our core values: employee centered, customer focused, and champions for the communities we serve.
The ideal candidate will succeed at the following essential functions:
Lead, Manage, and hold Accountable (LMA) teams within the region. Provide overall regional/market leadership.Attract, recruit, hire, train and develop branch managers. Oversee the hiring and development for other roles within the region, with a focus on Account Managers and Operations Managers.Partner with Human Resources to achieve staffing goals, Develop a bench of future leaders. Foster a culture of safety through continuous training, tight policy compliance, and accountability to our safety standards.Partner with Human Resources to achieve staffing goals and deliver on our employee centered culture. Complete annual budgeting and planning for the region/market. Conduct annual CapEx planning with each branch manager including asset disposal plans. Responsible to maintain company-owned asset report up-to-date including onsite reviews of assets once per quarter. Review branch financial performance with branch managers monthly with VP of Operations /COO present.Perform as the top local official for the company. Regional coordinator of all facilities, maintenance, security, and improvements. Negotiate and approve all major vendor relationships for region/market to leverage best pricing and service.Partner with Director of Sales to ensure annual sales goals are met. Assist business development & branch sales in high-level relationships and networking to penetrate new clients/properties and/or projects.Fosters relationships with top 20-40 maintenance clients inside regionNegotiates contracts with prospects & clients with branch managers & account managersDrive operational excellence through standardization and adherence to company policies and standards. Collaborate across regions to define best practices.Champion growth of the company. Identify and recommend areas for organic growth and/or tuck-in acquisitions. Provide oversight and leadership for the integration of new locations and tuck-in acquisitions.JOB SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Excellent operational skills in landscape installation, maintenance, and enhancement; snow removal and other operations within the region/market.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates superb verbal and written communication. Comfortable presenting to groups at all levels – employee meetings, peer groups, C-Suite meetings.
- Sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation and de-escalation ability.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills with emphasis on coaching & mentoring.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and address competing responsibilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, CRM systems, and project management software tools.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent related experience, including at least 5 years in a management capacity. At least 5 (five) years of experience in landscape & snow branch management or regional management within our industry.
- Strong leader with demonstrated success in coaching & mentoring.
- Achievement of branch or region success metrics in prior work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to meet fleet insurance standards
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Overnight travel may be required with proper notice
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to be on feet or walking for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
