Original job description

A Schneider Electric Field Service Representative Co-op or Intern role involves shadowing and assisting professional technicians with on-site equipment maintenance, diagnostic testing, and customer support.

Role Overview

Type: Co-op / Internship (Site-based field role)
Focus: Electrical power distribution equipment testing, maintenance and repair.
Location: Ottawa

Key Responsibilities

Assist with Maintenance & Repair: Help perform preventive maintenance, equipment startups, and field modifications on electrical and secure power systems.
Shadow Diagnostics: Observe senior technicians as they analyze complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using specialized test equipment.
Report Documentation: Learn how to complete accurate field service reports, startup data sheets, and maintenance logs.
Customer Interaction: Support communication with clients, site electricians, and internal technical support teams under supervision.
Safety & Compliance: Follow strict Health & Safety standards and corporate compliance rules on customer sites.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Enrolled in an EET program
Skills: Basic understanding of electrical theory, ability to read schematics or wiring diagrams, and general computer literacy.
Attributes: Strong eagerness to learn, safety-conscious mindset, and good interpersonal communication skills.
Requirements: Valid driver's license may be required for travel to customer sites.
