As the Senior Clinical Applications Analyst, you will be primary owner and subject matter expert for the MEDITECH Expanse platform and other supporting clinical applications at the Schroeder Ambulatory Centre. This is a high-impact role within our IT & Biomedical Technology group. You will oversee our portfolio of applications, guide the system improvement and maintenance roadmaps, and provide support and assistance to users across the organization, ensuring 24/7 operational excellence in our multidisciplinary facility. You will also provide backup Tier 2 support for Corporate Information Systems during CIS analyst absence and support implementation of new capabilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the multi-year enhancement plan for MEDITECH Expanse and other interfacing clinical applications, aligning priorities with clinical needs, regulatory changes, and technical upgrades – presenting roadmap proposals to leadership for approval
  • Lead the ongoing design, build, maintenance, and auditing of complex MEDITECH dictionaries and tables, ensuring data integrity across the entire EMR
  • Act as the primary liaison between Medical Staff, Nursing Leadership, Administration and IT to translate complex workflows into efficient digital solutions
  • Oversee the technical health of HL7 and FHIR interfaces and integrations with Pharmacy, Laboratory, Anesthesia, diagnostic equipment and other clinical systems. Support technical troubleshooting and incident resolution/reporting as issues arise
  • Oversee testing of system updates, new patches, and custom reports before they are moved into the live clinical environment
  • Establish and govern documentation standards across the application portfolio, including change management records, workflow libraries, and the IT knowledge base
  • Provide technical guidance, training and oversight to SAC users and serve as the final escalation point for complex application issues

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Schroeder Ambulatory Centre Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • A graduate degree in Health Informatics or a related field is considered an asset. Equivalent combinations of education and directly relevant Healthcare IT experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in healthcare clinical information systems, including at least 5 years of direct experience with MEDITECH Expanse implementation and management. Experience in clinical settings, including outpatient or surgical environments, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading clinical system upgrades or module implementations from planning through to go-live.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario healthcare standards (e.g., OHIP billing, Ontario Health reporting) and multidisciplinary ambulatory workflows.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following is considered an asset: MEDITECH Dictionary build, NPR/M-AT report writing, and SQL-based data repository management.
  • Proven ability to identify root causes, recommend solutions, and resolve issues using strong application knowledge and an understanding of clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus between technical teams and clinical stakeholders and provide user support with a strong service orientation.
  • Flexibility to work occasional or extended hours during system upgrades or as part of an on-call support schedule.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Proof of immunization and TB screening required upon hire.
