Original job description
POSITION TITLE: Senior Director, Distribution
LOCATION: Greater Toronto Area, ON
A leading national distributor has an immediate opening for a Senior Director of Distribution Operations, overseeing a large-scale, automated distribution centre in the west GTA. This is a senior leadership role, requiring a strategic mindset and ability to collaborate across a matrix organization. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, growing organization that truly cares about its people, with strong opportunities for career advancement. They offer an excellent compensation package including bonus, car allowance, long-term incentives and benefits.
We need a coach and mentor who is passionate about people, with the proven ability to develop a strong, engaged workforce. You will be overseeing an experienced team of managers, supervisors and over 150 support staff in a unionized environment, so we need a leader who can build a collaborative, positive relationship with the union. You will own the whole site, not just the operation, including automation, projects, maintenance, facilities and contractor coordination.
We require extensive leadership experience within a large-scale distribution environment, and ideally looking for experience in pharma, food, CPG or other regulated environments. Experience with automated material handling systems would be a definite plus, but is not mandatory. Background in managing operating and capital budgets is a key requirement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have experience overseeing a large-scale, complex distribution operation.
- Must be a motivated team builder and a proven coach and mentor.
- Experience leading a unionized workforce is strongly preferred.
- Experienced in setting up and managing budgets for operations and capital projects.
- Preference for experience in pharma, food, CPG or similar regulated environments.
- Experience with automation is a strong asset.
- Preference for project management experience; training in lean, Six Sigma, PMP would be an asset.
- Completion of post-secondary education is required.
SALARY RANGE: $150,000 – $200,000; plus bonus, car allowance, long-term incentives and benefits. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required. CCLP (CITT) or P.Log would be an asset.
