The Director, Global Insurance Data Solutions leads a dedicated Global Insurance data solutions function within the Global Wealth Management (GWM) Data Management Office. This role is accountable for building the data foundations, operations, governance, quality and analytics-enablement capabilities required to support Global Insurance business priorities across Canada and international markets.
The portfolio covers Canadian and International creditor and non-creditor insurance, GWM Insurance, and Insurance Distribution and Operations. The Director will define the target operating model, establish stakeholder relationships, recruit the initial team and sequence delivery of foundational insurance data capabilities.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Define the Global Insurance data strategy, mandate, operating model and multi-year roadmap.
- Establish governance forums, service expectations, prioritization and performance measures.
- Build a scalable team and delivery model aligned to GWM and enterprise standards.
- Lead data hunting, source assessment, requirements, profiling and implementation.
- Establish governed insurance data assets and reusable products for operations, reporting and analytics.
- Coordinate delivery across business, technology, data engineering and enterprise partners.
- Establish ownership, stewardship, metadata, privacy classification, lineage and quality controls.
- Direct remediation of critical data issues and support audit, regulatory and risk obligations.
- Implement sustainable operational controls, monitoring and issue escalation.
- Serve as the primary Data Management Office relationship lead for Global Insurance lines of business.
- Recruit, develop and lead the dedicated Insurance Data Solutions team.
- Communicate roadmap, dependencies, outcomes and risks to senior stakeholders.
- Create an inclusive, high-performance environment and build succession and development plans
- Communicate a clear vision, translate strategy into measurable outcomes and hold the team accountable for delivery.
- Promote effective day-to-day controls and sound risk decisions consistent with governing policies and standards.
- Build collaborative partnerships across business lines and enterprise functions.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- An Undergraduate degree in business, technology, data, finance or a related discipline
- Progressive experience leading enterprise data, analytics, technology, operations or product teams in a large, regulated organization
- Experience in insurance data, operations, distribution, actuarial, finance or regulatory reporting
- A demonstrated ability to define strategy, lead complex portfolios and deliver through cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata, privacy, controls and modern data platforms
- Executive-level communication, stakeholder management, financial judgment and people leadership capabilities
