- Partner with Operations, Risk, Treasury, Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to translate collateral and margining requirements into actionable technology roadmaps and executable delivery plans.
- Define the target architecture and data strategy for collateral inventory, legal agreement terms, eligibility schedules, margin calls, disputes, settlements, exposures, valuations, and control evidence.
- Own and manage vendor relationships across the collateral ecosystem, including collateral management, margin messaging, optimization, reconciliation, clearing broker, custodian, tri-party, and market utility services.
- Apply modern engineering and delivery practices including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-adjacent architectures, APIs, event-driven integration, observability, and automated testing.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, information security policies, data governance requirements, model and end-user computing controls, and records retention obligations.
- Act as the primary technology interface between Collateral Operations, Margin Operations, Market and Counterparty Risk, Treasury, Legal, Product Control, Front Office, and other Capital Markets Technology teams.
- Establish management information and control metrics covering margin call timeliness, settlement status, disputes, aged exceptions, collateral concentration, inventory sufficiency, platform availability, and operational risk indicators.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen incident management, root-cause analysis, problem management, production controls, knowledge transfer, and elimination of recurring exceptions.
- Communicate technology strategy, risk posture, regulatory readiness, delivery status, and investment priorities effectively to senior technology and business leadership.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Create an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring appropriate controls for operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, privacy, information security, and conduct risk.
