Location: This role requires to work onsite (Markham, ON) up to 4 days per week during testing and key implementation activities.

Job Summary

We are looking for Payroll Specialists with Workday implementation experience to support a large-scale payroll transformation initiative while also assisting with day-to-day payroll operations. This role will play a critical part in payroll testing, validation, system configuration support, issue resolution, and payroll process optimization.

The successful candidate will combine strong Canadian payroll expertise with hands-on participation in Workday Payroll implementations, upgrades, conversions, or transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Support end-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-provincial workforce
Participate in Workday Payroll implementation activities, testing, and deployment support
Execute payroll validation, parallel testing, reconciliations, and data audits
Investigate system-related payroll issues and recommend solutions
Assist with configuration reviews, process documentation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Support payroll reporting, controls, and compliance processes
Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and implementation teams to ensure project success
Contribute to payroll modernization and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and organizational policies

Qualifications

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required
3-5+ years of Canadian payroll experience
Direct experience supporting a Workday Payroll implementation, migration, upgrade, or transformation project
Experience with system testing, UAT, payroll validation, and reconciliation processes
Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, and employment standards
Experience processing payroll in a multi-provincial environment
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment

Highly Preferred

Experience with Workday Payroll configuration or deployment support
Experience in healthcare or other large, complex organizations
Experience supporting payroll change management and process redesign initiatives
