Qualifications Accepted To Work As a PSW

Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
RN or RPN
Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
Valid Developmental Support Worker Diploma
Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse

Requirements

A valid driver’s license and vehicle to use for work daily is required
Meet Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB, Tetanus
Current vulnerable sector check (VSC)
Current Standard CPR level C certificate and First Aid
Availability to work days OR evenings and every other weekend
This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement

Responsibilities

Provide personal support and care to clients in Barrhaven and surrounding areas, while delivering excellent care and working collaboratively with the care team. Travel between clients and meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, and reaching.

Requirements

Applicants must hold an accepted PSW-related qualification, such as a Personal Support Worker certificate, RN or RPN qualification, qualifying nursing studies, a Developmental Support Worker diploma, or foreign-trained nursing credentials. Requirements also include a valid driver’s license and vehicle, required immunizations, a current vulnerable sector check, Standard CPR Level C and First Aid, and availability for day or evening shifts and every other weekend.
