Qualifications Accepted To Work As a PSW

Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
RN or RPN
Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
Valid Developmental Support Worker Diploma
Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse

Requirements

A valid driver’s license and vehicle to use for work daily is required
Meet Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB and Tetanus
Current vulnerable sector check (VSC)
Current Standard CPR level C certificate and First Aid
Availability to work days OR evenings and every other weekend
This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement

Responsibilities

Provide personal support and exceptional care to clients during community care shifts in the Scarborough area. Travel between clients and support their care needs while contributing to improvements in service delivery.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid Personal Support Worker certificate or meet one of the listed alternative qualifications, such as nursing education or a Developmental Support Worker diploma. A valid driver's license and vehicle, required immunizations, a current vulnerable sector check, Standard CPR Level C and First Aid, and availability for days or evenings and every other weekend are required; the role also involves physically demanding tasks.
