About Search Engine People

Search Engine People (SEP) is one of Canada's leading digital marketing agencies, with over 25 years of experience helping businesses grow through search engine marketing.

As a Google Premier Partner, we work with businesses across Canada and the United States, delivering measurable results through SEO, paid advertising, analytics, conversion optimization, and emerging AI-driven marketing solutions.

We are looking for a talented and results-driven Google Ads Specialist to join our growing Paid Media team.

About the Role

As a Google Ads Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, managing, optimizing, and scaling Google Ads campaigns for a diverse portfolio of clients.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Google Ads, understands how to generate qualified leads and revenue, and uses data to make informed optimization decisions.

We are looking for someone who goes beyond managing campaigns and focuses on delivering measurable business outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Google Ads Campaign Management

Build, launch, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns, including Search, Performance Max, Display, Demand Gen, and YouTube.
Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and search intent evaluation.
Develop effective campaign structures, ad copy, audience targeting, and bidding strategies.
Manage campaign budgets and optimize performance toward client objectives.
Continuously improve Quality Scores, click-through rates, conversion rates, cost per acquisition (CPA), and return on ad spend (ROAS).
Identify opportunities to expand successful campaigns and improve account performance.

Conversion Tracking & Analytics

Implement and troubleshoot conversion tracking using Google Ads, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
Understand enhanced conversions, offline conversion tracking, and CRM integrations.
Analyze campaign performance beyond clicks and leads, focusing on lead quality, sales, and revenue.
Identify tracking issues and work with internal teams to resolve them.
Use data to develop actionable recommendations.

Campaign Optimization & Strategy

Evaluate search terms, negative keywords, audience signals, bidding strategies, and campaign performance.
Conduct A/B testing of advertisements, landing pages, and campaign strategies.
Collaborate with SEO, content, creative, and web development teams to improve campaign performance.
Stay current with Google Ads automation, AI-powered advertising features, and industry best practices.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve client ROI.

Reporting & Client Collaboration

Prepare clear, insightful performance reports.
Explain campaign results and optimization recommendations to account managers and clients.
Participate in client meetings when needed.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure campaigns align with client business goals.
Manage multiple accounts while maintaining high standards of accuracy and performance.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on experience managing Google Ads campaigns, preferably in a digital marketing agency.
Strong expertise in Google Search Ads and Performance Max campaigns.
Demonstrated experience managing meaningful advertising budgets across multiple accounts.
Strong understanding of Google Ads bidding strategies, campaign optimization, and account structure.
Proficiency with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
Experience implementing and troubleshooting conversion tracking.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret performance data.
Experience with lead generation campaigns and optimizing for qualified leads.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Google Ads certifications.
Experience with Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads).
Experience with Google Merchant Center and Shopping campaigns.
Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot and Salesforce.
Experience with enhanced conversions and offline conversion imports.
Understanding of landing page optimization and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
Experience using Looker Studio and other reporting platforms.
Familiarity with AI-powered advertising tools and automation.
Experience managing both Canadian and U.S. advertising campaigns.

What Success Looks Like

At Search Engine People, we measure success based on the business results we generate for our clients.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:

Consistently achieve or exceed client CPA, ROAS, and lead generation targets.
Improve campaign efficiency while maintaining or increasing conversion volume.
Generate higher-quality leads that translate into sales and revenue.
Identify and resolve campaign performance issues proactively.
