About The Role
Join Securiguard as an Loss Prevention Officer and play an active role in preventing retail theft through surveillance, investigations, and lawful apprehensions. This is not a static security position-you'll be working in a fast-paced retail environment where every shift presents new challenges.

What You'll Do
- Safeguard assets and minimize losses for retail clients by conducting routine surveillance and employing observational skills to identify theft, fraud, or security breaches.
- Regularly patrol the premises and interact with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Investigate suspicious activities, review CCTV footage, and collaborate with law enforcement when necessary.
- Craft detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Enforce security protocols, de-escalate conflicts, and, when needed, make lawful arrests to ensure a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.
- Valid BC Security Worker License
- At least 1 year of security experience in a high-profile customer focused environment such as retail, government or healthcare..
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
- Strong observational skills and situational awareness
- Punctuality
- Able to stand/patrol up for up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities
Conduct surveillance and patrol retail premises to deter theft, identify suspicious activity, and protect people, property, and business operations. Investigate incidents, review CCTV footage, prepare detailed reports, de-escalate conflicts, and make lawful arrests when necessary.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a valid BC Security Worker License and have at least one year of security experience in a customer-focused environment. Strong communication, report-writing, observation, conflict-resolution, and de-escalation skills are required; military, police, or law enforcement experience is an asset, and applicants must be able to stand or patrol for up to eight hours.
