PRIMARY PURPOSE: To collaborate with and assist Forensic Scientists and Engineers to investigate and/or document events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists Forensic Scientist and Engineers with forensic testing.
Maintains and manages evidence by safekeeping property in such a manner that the individual items are secure from theft, loss, or contamination.
Transports evidence as instructed.
Maintains chain of custody reports with notations of any and all actions associated with evidence.
Ensures the timely and legally correct notifications of Fire Investigators and Engineers for release/disposal of evidence collected and stored by the Company.
Works closely with internal and external customers to provide proper notifications regarding work orders.
Coordinates the disposal of evidence which is authorized for disposal, including any special disposal of explosives / hazardous specimens.
Procures and maintains adequate supplies. Manages distribution of containers and evidence collection kits to customers.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned.
Supports the organization's quality program(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. IAAI-ECT certification is preferred. Ability to become IAAI-ECT within 12 months is required.

Experience
Two (2) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

Responsibilities
