Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance and IT, this role is Select Food Products’ hands-on business technology leader and owns the day-to-day performance, security, governance, and continuous improvement of Sage X3 ERP and Select’s broader IT environment. The successful candidate will partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Sales, and Logistics to improve business processes, data quality, reporting, cybersecurity, technology reliability, and user adoption. The role combines ERP leadership, vendor management, IT service oversight, and delivery of technology projects in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

ERP, applications, and data

  • Serve as Select’s primary internal owner for Sage X3, working with 4CAD and other consultants to support, improve, and maintain the system.
  • Support Sage X3 processes across finance, purchasing, inventory, production, quality, manufacturing, distribution, costing, and accounting.
  • Manage ERP issues, changes, testing, documentation, user communications, and system improvements.
  • Improve master-data integrity, reporting, controls, and business processes.
  • Manage and enhance Nectari / Sage Enterprise Intelligence reports, dashboards, KPI scorecards, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Support business applications and integrations, including Flavor Studio, TrueCommerce, iTradeNetwork, Microsoft 365, and planned ERP/WMS initiatives.
  • Provide data analysis and system support for costing, supply chain, inventory, production, and management decision-making.

IT operations and cybersecurity

  • Manage Select’s IT environment in partnership with the managed-service provider, Websdepot, and specialized technology vendors.
  • Oversee infrastructure, endpoints, servers, virtual machines, networking, Wi-Fi, firewalls, telephony, printers, hardware lifecycle, software licensing, and technology support escalation.
  • Lead cybersecurity governance with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
  • Maintain user accounts, system access, distribution groups, privileged access, onboarding/offboarding controls, and periodic access reviews.
  • Ensure Select maintains company-controlled ownership of critical administrative accounts, credentials, system documentation, vendor contacts, contracts, and recovery procedures.
  • Maintain and improve IT policies, procedures, asset records, system documentation, and business-continuity plans.

Projects, vendors, and user adoption

  • Lead technology projects from requirements and business case through vendor coordination, testing, training, implementation, stabilization, and benefit realization.
  • Manage external IT, ERP, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and software vendors; establish clear accountability, service expectations, escalation paths, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare IT operating and capital budgets, technology roadmaps, renewal plans, and investment recommendations.
  • Train users and develop practical procedures, user guides, and support materials.
  • Identify and implement practical automation and AI opportunities while ensuring secure, responsible use of company data and tools.

Qualifications

 Required

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of progressive IT, ERP, or business-systems experience in manufacturing, food, consumer packaged goods, distribution, or a similar operational environment.
  • Demonstrable hands-on Sage X3 experience, including ERP support, configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, data integrity, user support, upgrades, or improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of core business processes: finance, purchasing, inventory, production, quality, distribution, manufacturing, traceability, and costing.
  • Experience managing MSPs, ERP consultants, cybersecurity providers, and technology vendors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, identity and access management, endpoint management, cybersecurity controls, networking, servers/virtualization, backup/recovery, and IT service management.
  • Strong project-management, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI/reporting tools such as Nectari, Sage Enterprise Intelligence, Power BI, SQL, or comparable tools is preferred.
  • Ability to work on site and travel between Select facilities as required.

Preferred

  • Food-manufacturing experience, including food safety, quality, lot traceability, recipes/formulation, BOMs, EDI, or production planning.
  • Experience with Sage X3 upgrades, WMS, ERP integrations, TrueCommerce, iTradeNetwork, Flavor Studio, and/or managed-security services.
  • Relevant cybersecurity, IT service-management, cloud, project-management, or Microsoft certifications.

Personal attributes

  • Hands-on, organized, service-oriented, and calm under pressure.
  • Able to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Strong ownership of data integrity, cybersecurity, access controls, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities while balancing urgent support needs with longer-term improvement work.
  • Collaborative business partner who can lead change and build confidence with both technical and non-technical users.
