The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll lead engineering, including DevOps and FinOps.
This role is as much hands-on as it is leadership. You’ll spend a large part of your week building with AI agents, reviewing their output, working on infrastructure and going deep on our pricing algorithm.
You’ll also coach the team, set clear priorities and keep delivery on track, making AI a default part of how we build, with practical guardrails and human review.

What You’ll Own
- Production reliability: observability, alerting and incident management.
- Team leadership, clear ownership, realistic planning with Product and regular updates to the CEO.
- Work allocation and decisions on when to bring in outside help.
- Architecture, infrastructure and data systems, alongside hands-on development.
- Code review, testing, security testing and release practices.
- AI-assisted development, balancing automation with human checks.
- Cloud spend and infrastructure efficiency.
- Experience leading AI-native engineering in a team, with clear guardrails.
- Ownership of a SaaS product’s architecture, infrastructure and production operations.
- Experience managing developers as a team lead, tech lead or engineering manager.
- Strong hands-on backend experience, ideally in Python, building data-heavy systems and reviewing others’ work.
- Production AWS experience and a good grasp of cost and reliability trade-offs.
- PostgreSQL at scale: performance tuning, sharding and replication.
- Experience building practical processes that improve accountability and predictable delivery.
- Clear communication and fluent written and spoken English.
- End-to-end ownership of an entire SaaS platform.
- Production Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (CDK, Terraform or similar) and CI/CD experience.
- Hands-on experience with EKS/ECS, Lambda, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, RDS, S3 or IAM.
- Production experience with Go.
- Experience with ClickHouse, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake or a similar OLAP store.
