Who you are:

We are seeking a data-driven Corporate Development & Market Strategy Lead to accelerate our growth leveraging applied technology in agricultural-based supply chains. This veteran contributor role bridges the gap between high-stakes business expansion and strategic market intelligence. You will evaluate corporate growth opportunities - including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic commercial relationships - while leading and evaluating deep market research.

What you will do:

Commercial Relationships: Collaborate with go-to-market leads to structure, negotiate, and frame high-impact commercial relationships, joint ventures, and channel partnerships across the agricultural ecosystem
Transaction Support: Build comprehensive business cases, construct financial valuation models, and coordinate cross-functional due diligence efforts with product, legal, and finance teams
Strategic Growth Execution: Manage the corporate development pipeline from initial sourcing and deal structuring through to integration planning and partnership with Financial Planning & Analysis
M&A Evaluation: Identify, research, and screen prospective acquisition targets that align with our product portfolio and long-term corporate roadmap
Market Sizing Assessments: Conduct rigorous Total Addressable Market (TAM), Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM), and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) analyses to evaluate new geographies and crop segments
Strategic Insights: Synthesize ag production, market and commercial data; grower trends; and competitive intelligence into qualified assessments that help steer market expansion, new product development and sales strategy
Go-to-Market (GTM) Alignment: Translate market research into actionable briefs for the marketing and sales teams, defining buyer personas with product management, regional challenges, and collaboration with the commercial enablement team on optimal pricing frameworks
Trend Tracking: Monitor macroeconomic agricultural trends, regulatory changes (e.g., carbon credits, biological approvals), and emerging technology shifts to safeguard our market position

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agronomy, Business, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred
7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate development, strategic marketing, management consulting, or venture capital, preferably within the applied technology, AgTech, SaaS, or precision agriculture sectors
Proven track record of independently building market models, assessing market share data, and evaluating corporate transaction structures

Skills

AgTech Domain Knowledge: Understanding of the agricultural value chain from hands-on experience, including work with growers, retail distributors, equipment OEMs, and agronomic workflows
Financial & Analytical Modeling: Strong proficiency in financial valuation, market-sizing math to self-sufficiently translate complex datasets into clear executive presentations
Strategic Assessment: Ability to look beyond basic metrics to make highly qualified recommendations on whether to buy, build, or partner
Cross-Functional Productivity: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with a proven ability to align commercial and operational objectives and plans, sales directors, and executive leadership

Nice to have:

Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance/Agribusiness) or CFA designation
Direct experience in deal execution, M&A integration, or strategic alliance negotiation within AgTech, SaaS, or IoT space
Deep network within the agricultural technology ecosystem, including retail distributors, OEMs, and agronomic service providers
Familiarity with carbon markets, biological registration frameworks, and environmental sustainability incentives

Salary range: $101,000 to $137,000 per year

We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.
