Original job description
Founded in 2010, Semios Group is a leading agricultural technology company helping growers, agronomists, and ag retailers manage over 200 million acres across five countries. Semios pioneered variable-rate pheromone-based mating disruption in orchards and has since expanded into a comprehensive portfolio covering crop protection, water management, frost control, automation, and a leading farm management information system. The Semios Group includes trusted brands such as Semios, Agworld, Altrac, and Greenbook. We continue to drive the next generation of digital agriculture, supporting growers, agronomists and ag retailers in improving sustainability and profitability.
Our innovative work has been recognized with several industry awards, including:
- AgTech Breakthrough - Smart Irrigation Company & Pest Management Solution of the Year
- Thrive Top 50
- Google for Startups Accelerator Cohort
- Global Cleantech Top 100
Who you are:
You're driven by purpose and motivated by work that matters. You're looking for more than a role, you want to be part of a growing, forward-thinking company solving real-world challenges to improve how farming works, today and for the future.
As a Software Developer Co-op, you will collaborate with our teams to support Semios in building the most integrated platform in Agriculture, developing the web applications that growers rely on to manage their farms on a day to day basis. You will get to work on a modern product codebase while getting experience with AI Harnesses, React, TypeScript, Node.js, REST and GraphQL APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
What you will do:
- Build and maintain responsive, accessible user interfaces in React and TypeScript, working from designs and requirements alongside product and design
- Use AI toolsets to automate parts of the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to our shared component library and help keep patterns consistent across the product
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, and participate in code reviews with the rest of the team
- Integrate front end features with backend services and APIs, handling real world concerns like loading states, error handling, and large data sets
- Help diagnose and fix bugs reported by internal users and customers, tracing issues across the stack
- Participate in agile ceremonies including stand ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, and ship your work to production through our CI/CD pipeline
- Course work or experience with TypeScript
- Exposure to a modern front end framework such as React
- Course work or experience using Git and working in a shared codebase
- Passion for learning new technologies
- A positive attitude and interest in learning about Agriculture
- Experience working in a cloud environment
- Exposure to Node.js, REST or GraphQL APIs, or SQL databases
- Experience with Claude, Co-pilot or Chat GPT within the content of the Software Development Lifecyle
We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.
Winter 2027 Co-op Term - Available from January 2027
