Who you are:

As a Software Developer Co-op, you will collaborate with our teams to support Semios in building the most integrated platform in Agriculture, developing the web applications that growers rely on to manage their farms on a day to day basis. You will get to work on a modern product codebase while getting experience with AI Harnesses, React, TypeScript, Node.js, REST and GraphQL APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
What you will do:
- Build and maintain responsive, accessible user interfaces in React and TypeScript, working from designs and requirements alongside product and design
- Use AI toolsets to automate parts of the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to our shared component library and help keep patterns consistent across the product
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, and participate in code reviews with the rest of the team
- Integrate front end features with backend services and APIs, handling real world concerns like loading states, error handling, and large data sets
- Help diagnose and fix bugs reported by internal users and customers, tracing issues across the stack
- Participate in agile ceremonies including stand ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, and ship your work to production through our CI/CD pipeline
Requirements
To be currently enrolled and working towards a post secondary degree that focuses on computer science, software engineering, or a related field, and registered in a recognized cooperative education program at a post secondary institutionStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong problem solving skills- Course work or experience with TypeScript
- Exposure to a modern front end framework such as React
- Course work or experience using Git and working in a shared codebase
- Passion for learning new technologies
- A positive attitude and interest in learning about Agriculture
Nice to have:
- Experience working in a cloud environment
- Exposure to Node.js, REST or GraphQL APIs, or SQL databases
- Experience with Claude, Co-pilot or Chat GPT within the content of the Software Development Lifecyle
Salary range: $20 to $24 per hour
We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.
