Original job description

Company Description SenseNet Inc. is an international wildfire risk resilience intelligence company focused on strengthening operational certainty and decision-making for municipalities, emergency responders, and critical infrastructure operators in wildfire-prone areas. The company delivers a multi-layer wildfire intelligence ecosystem covering the full wildfire lifecycle, from proactive risk awareness and early ignition detection to situational awareness and post-incident analysis. Leveraging AI-powered monitoring stations, satellite-based fire risk mapping, and ground sensing networks, SenseNet reduces blind spots and provides earlier visibility during the first critical minutes of ignition. Rather than selling devices, SenseNet operates as an infrastructure-level capability integrated into existing emergency response workflows, enhancing risk identification, response confidence, and community resilience.

Role Description The Cybersecurity & Compliance Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in North Vancouver, BC. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity controls and compliance frameworks across SenseNet’s infrastructure, platforms, and data environments. Day-to-day tasks include assessing security risks, managing security incidents, coordinating vulnerability management, and overseeing secure configuration for applications, networks, and cloud services. The Cybersecurity & Compliance Lead will develop and maintain policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, while partnering with engineering and operations teams to embed security into system design and deployment. The role also includes conducting security awareness activities, leading audits and assessments, supporting customer and partner security reviews, and continuously improving SenseNet’s security posture to protect critical wildfire intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with experience designing and implementing security controls and risk management practices.
Expertise in Network Security, including secure network architecture, segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, and monitoring.
Experience in Application Security, including secure software development practices, code review, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation.
Hands-on experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), identity and access management, encryption, and endpoint protection.
Lead

Proven ability to lead incident response, conduct root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions across cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex security topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in or with critical infrastructure, public safety, emergency response, or geospatial/remote sensing environments is an asset.
