We have an opportunity for an IT Technician
Job Summary
The IT Technician is responsible for providing support and service delivery for end-user computing environments. As the voice and face of the IT Department, this role delivers customer-focused technical support, resolves help desk issues, and ensures the reliable operation of employee technology while maintaining compliance with established procedures, privacy requirements, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level help desk support for employees, prioritizing and tracking requests through the IT ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, configure, repair, and upgrade end-user hardware, software, and mobile devices.
- Escalate issues to internal teams or external vendors as required to ensure timely resolution.
- Support onboarding activities by preparing equipment, user accounts, and technology resources for new employees.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of IT hardware, accessories, and supplies.
- Participate in daily system monitoring activities and respond appropriately to system and security incidents.
- Assist with the management and maintenance of on-premise servers and systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and the end-user experience.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, data integrity, information security, privacy, and safety requirements.
- Provide recommendations on the selection and implementation of new technologies.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a diploma in Network Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications are considered an asset.
Experience And Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related IT support role.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, or other regulated manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and self-directed approach.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and open-minded.
- Availability to participate in on-call rotations and support multiple shifts as required.
- Valid driver's license and passport are considered assets.
- Bilingual English/French or Portuguese is considered an asset.
Compensation
Starting at approximately
$52,000 CAD, with opportunity for increase based on qualifications and experience. Total rewards include comprehensive benefits, bonus eligibility, and professional development support.
