The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Delivery Manager, business representatives, technical teams, and other stakeholders to validate business requirements, facilitate business process transformation, support solution configuration, coordinate data migration and validation, lead testing activities, and assist with change management and organizational readiness.
This role requires a hands-on Senior Business Analyst with demonstrated experience in complex application modernization projects, requirements management, data migration, testing, stakeholder engagement, and business process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis and Requirements Management
- Lead the planning, facilitation, execution, and documentation of business requirements and business process validation workshops, meetings, and stakeholder interviews.
- Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business, functional, and system requirements.
- Validate the MVAD solution design from a business perspective and ensure alignment with departmental operational needs and project objectives.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis between existing MRD and TMS business processes and the new MVAD platform.
- Develop and maintain business requirements documents, use cases, workflows, business process models, and other standard project artifacts.
- Identify business and functional gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support the configuration of the new system to meet client requirements, including user security settings and business rules.
- Support complex, large-scale modernization initiatives involving the replacement or transformation of legacy business applications.
- Analyze existing business processes and workflows and map them to the capabilities of the modernized MVAD solution.
- Facilitate business process redesign and ensure that operational requirements are appropriately reflected in the target solution.
- Support the transition from legacy mainframe-based systems to the modernized platform.
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand application functionality, system workflows, integrations, and business logic.
- Identify and document gaps between legacy processes, data structures, and the target solution.
- Apply change impact analysis to support effective implementation of new processes and system functionality.
- Support end-to-end data migration activities, including data cleansing, conversion, mapping, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness.
- Work with business and technical stakeholders to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, gaps, and conversion requirements.
- Document source-to-target data mappings, migration rules, business validation requirements, and data transformation logic.
- Assess legacy data structures and support alignment with the target platform’s data model.
- Coordinate business validation of migrated data and verify that data meets established business rules and quality standards.
- Support data reconciliation, defect identification, issue resolution, and migration sign-off activities.
- Assist with migration planning and readiness activities to support the project’s modernization and go-live objectives.
- Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on approved business requirements.
- Lead and coordinate internal testing and client testing activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Execute or support the execution of test cases and scripts to validate business processes, system functionality, data conversion, and migrated records.
- Monitor and control test plan execution, track test progress, document results, and report defects and outstanding issues.
- Collaborate with business users, developers, and technical teams to investigate defects, validate fixes, and conduct regression testing where required.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test scenarios, test cases, and identified defects.
- Support business acceptance and readiness activities by confirming that solution functionality meets validated requirements.
- Engage business representatives, departmental stakeholders, project leadership, technical teams, and other project participants to ensure a common understanding of requirements and project objectives.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, interviews, and working sessions to resolve requirements gaps and business process issues.
- Communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and professional documentation, status updates, meeting minutes, presentations, and project deliverables.
- Build consensus among stakeholders and support timely resolution of business decisions, dependencies, and issues.
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and facilitation skills.
- Work closely with business representatives and the OCIO Change Management team to support business process change activities.
- Assess the operational impacts of new system functionality, redesigned workflows, and changes to existing business practices.
- Support the preparation and delivery of training materials, user guides, process documentation, and change communications.
- Assist business users in understanding new or enhanced system functionality and updated operational procedures.
- Contribute to organizational readiness, implementation planning, and transition activities required for successful adoption of the MVAD solution.
- Prepare, review, and finalize project deliverables, including requirements documentation, business process models, workflows, use cases, fit-gap analyses, test documentation, and user guides.
