Original job description

English section of this bilingual listing.

Shawarmaz is growing and is seeking an experienced Franchise Performance Manager to support its franchise network, improve restaurant performance and ensure the consistent execution of Shawarmaz standards.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position based primarily in the field. Most working time is spent in restaurants alongside franchisees and their teams, with frequent travel between locations, including during peak periods and evenings and weekends .

You will take ownership of problems, step directly into operations, personally correct mistakes and demonstrate the right methods. The role goes beyond inspections and action plans: you will implement solutions alongside teams and ensure improvements are sustained.

Your priorities will be restaurant operational and financial performance, along with customer satisfaction across dine-in, takeout, online and delivery orders. Regular reports to Head Office will provide clear visibility into actions taken and results achieved.

Training and Onboarding

You must complete Shawarmaz’s full hands-on operational training and demonstrate proficiency in all restaurant procedures and workstations. Head Office must validate this proficiency before you conduct independent visits or evaluate and train teams.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct frequent visits across the network based on each restaurant’s needs, including during peak periods.
Ensure compliance with Shawarmaz standards and MAPAQ requirements for preparation, portions, quality, hygiene and food safety.
Work directly during service to personally correct mistakes, improve workflows and train teams through practical demonstration.
Ensure fast service, order accuracy, product availability and restaurant cleanliness. Monitor customer reviews and complaints across all channels and resolve the underlying causes.
Analyze each restaurant’s financial and operating results, including profit and loss (P&L) statements, sales trends, average transaction value, food and labour costs, waste and inventory variances.
Set measurable sales, cost control and profitability targets with franchisees and Head Office. Implement improvements with restaurant teams and track results while maintaining product quality and service standards.
Develop and execute corrective action plans with clear responsibilities and deadlines. Verify their effectiveness on site and provide additional support to underperforming locations until lasting improvements are achieved.
Train franchisees, managers and employees, verify their skills and provide on-site training and operational support for new openings.
Work with Head Office, franchisees, suppliers and partners to resolve operational issues.
Submit reports after every visit, training session, opening or intervention, along with regular performance summaries. Outline issues identified, corrections completed, results achieved and required follow-up with deadlines. Promptly flag recurring issues or unmet commitments.

Candidate Profile

Minimum three years of experience managing multi-unit or franchise restaurants.
Strong hands-on quick-service restaurant experience and the ability to work at different stations.
Valid MAPAQ Food Establishment Manager certificate or recognized equivalent.
Experience in training, restaurant openings and performance improvement.
Ability to read and interpret restaurant P&L statements, monitor budgets and key performance indicators, and turn financial findings into practical actions that improve profitability.
Strong leadership, independence, organization and the ability to enforce standards through clear, constructive communication.
Strong accountability, consistent follow-through and a focus on customer satisfaction.
Fluency in French. Professional English is required to communicate with certain English-speaking franchisees, suppliers and business partners.
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for frequent travel between locations.

Schedule and Travel

The schedule varies based on network needs and includes days, evenings and weekends, particularly during peak periods and new openings. Scheduled days off may fall during the week.

Travel and administrative tasks must be organized to spend most working time actively supporting restaurant operations on site.

To Apply

Please submit your CV and a brief introduction outlining your experience in multi-unit restaurant management and restaurant performance improvement.
