Role Description This full-time Goldsmith role at Shimoon Jewellers is an on-site position based in Calgary, AB. The Goldsmith will be responsible for crafting, repairing, and finishing fine jewelry pieces using a variety of metals and gemstones. Daily tasks include performing soldering, setting stones, polishing, engraving, and ensuring all pieces meet quality and design standards. The role also involves collaborating with jewelry designers on custom orders, maintaining tools and equipment, and occasionally interacting with clients to discuss repairs or custom work. The Goldsmith is expected to uphold the company’s high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Strong goldsmithing skills, including metalworking, soldering, stone setting, and finishing.
- Proficiency in jewelry design and custom piece creation, with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Experience with engraving and other decorative techniques to personalize jewelry.
- Customer service and sales skills to support client interactions, consultations, and in-store inquiries.
- Previous experience in a jewelry workshop or retail jewelry environment.
- Ability to work with precision under time constraints while maintaining quality standards.
- Knowledge of jewelry materials, gemstones, and industry best practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety, tool maintenance, and organized work habits.
