Why this role is important?

As a key partner to clients, you provide strategic direction, influence key decisions, and translate business objectives into actionable plans that drive strong program and customer outcomes.

You will lead and be accountable for complex programs and initiatives from strategy through execution, collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams to ensure programs meet client, business, financial, performance, and regulatory objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and be accountable for the strategic direction, execution, and ongoing management of specialty programs, ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational goals
  • Act as a key strategic partner and primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships, influencing program and business decisions, and identifying insights that support program and business growth
  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to drive program growth, sustainability, innovation, efficiencies, and continuous improvement
  • Lead cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment, accountability, and successful execution
  • Oversee and monitor program performance and contractual commitments, including deliverables, timelines, SLAs, KPIs, reporting, and financial requirements
  • Leverage program data and insights, in partnership with the Business Intelligence team, to identify opportunities, develop recommendations, and support client decision-making
  • Establish and deliver against business plans and financial targets, with accountability for program budgets, profitability, billing, market share performance, and overall business results
  • Lead client presentations, business reviews, and strategic discussions, translating complex information into clear recommendations and actions
  • Anticipate evolving client, market, and program needs and proactively identifying opportunities, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Provide input and subject matter expertise during RFPs and lead or support the development and renewal of program contracts
  • Ensure a high standard of program and customer-service excellence and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, policies, standards, and contractual obligations

What You Will Need

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in account management, patient support program management, pharmaceutical brand management, specialty pharmaceuticals, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system; knowledge of provincial drug reimbursement programs and third-party drug coverage is an asset
  • Proven client relationship and account management skills, including direct interaction with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership and ability to influence and drive results without direct authority
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including hands-on budget management and experience managing against financial and performance targets
  • Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to manage complex initiatives, competing priorities, risks, and dependencies
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate and influence across multiple levels of an organization
  • University degree or equivalent industry-related experience; a business or healthcare professional designation is an asset
