Role Description The Beauty Specialist is a part-time, on-site role based at the Shoppers Drug Mart location in Keswick, ON. This role focuses on providing knowledgeable and welcoming beauty consultations, including recommending cosmetic, skincare, and fragrance products that suit customers’ needs and preferences. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with product selection, demonstrating product usage, maintaining a clean and visually appealing beauty department, and ensuring shelves are well-stocked and organized. The Beauty Specialist also supports sales initiatives, promotes current offers and loyalty programs, and collaborates with team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service. This position may involve evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Customer service and retail skills, including active listening, relationship-building, and a focus on creating positive in-store experiences.
• Beauty and product knowledge, such as familiarity with cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance trends, and the ability to provide tailored recommendations.
• Sales and merchandising capabilities, including suggestive selling, cross-selling, and maintaining attractive, well-organized product displays.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and clearly with diverse customers and team members.
• Basic organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple customers, tasks, and priorities efficiently during busy periods.
• Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced retail environment, including standing for extended periods and following health and safety guidelines.
• Previous experience in retail, beauty, or customer-facing roles is an asset; formal training or certification in cosmetology or esthetics is considered a strong plus.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and alignment with Shoppers Drug Mart’s inclusive, customer-focused values.
