Sidrat Research works with partners to advance the bounds of scientific knowledge by providing innovative research and related services. We engage with our clients to deliver solutions at all stages of the research endeavour, ranging from project conception to infrastructure development to community engagement. Based out of Toronto, Canada, we work with teams across the globe at the leading edge of their fields. We engage the broader research community through developing tools, techniques, and training practices that help scientists get to their next discovery.
As an Event Planner, you will work across a variety of projects and events hosted for internal- and client-directed initiatives.
On a day-to-day basis:
- You will develop and execute in-person and hybrid events, including scientific conferences, meetings, and other special events
- You will coordinate logistics related to events, including engaging and fostering relationships with vendors and partners to deliver successful experiences
- You will work collaboratively with staff members to organize and engage stakeholders in the planning and execution of events
- You will manage timelines and budgets for meetings
- You will coordinate communication and forge relationships between event organizers, participants, and other attendees
- You will provide on-site logistical and administrative support for participants and organizers during events
- You will develop, maintain, and record processes to efficiently and effectively build events that engage the scientific and technical communities
- You will explore innovative and creative ways to build and leverage opportunities to increase scientific discourse and community building through in-person and hybrid events
- You will provide administrative and logistical support to the team to support internal and client-facing initiatives

This is a full-time position on a one-year renewable contract with the opportunity to become permanent. This position is based out of our Midtown Toronto office and will require occasional travel.
What You'll Bring
The right candidate for this position will bring:
- A postsecondary diploma or degree or equivalent experience
- A passion for science and helping expand the boundaries of scientific discovery
- Demonstrated experience leading and organizing events for professional audiences in either a professional or volunteer capacity (Minimum 2-years)
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated experience working in multitasking environments while managing timelines and priorities
- Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including maintaining brand and messaging standards to a wide range of audiences, including professional, scientific, and technical
- Technical proficiency in the Windows computing environment and the Microsoft 365 Suite (including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excitement to explore and learn new skills, tools, and technologies to find creative ways to apply them to scientific events
