Description
As part of a strategic digital transformation initiative within the insurance industry, we are seeking a technical leader to join a development team responsible for the evolution and optimization of a Guidewire platform. The selected candidate will play a key role in providing technical leadership to delivery teams and will act as a trusted advisor to various stakeholders in designing and implementing high-performing, scalable and secure solutions aligned with business objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with development teams, business analysts, architects, quality specialists and business stakeholders to support technology initiatives, ensure solution quality and contribute to the advancement of development best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Guidewire platform and serve as a subject matter expert for development teams.
- Translate business requirements, functional needs and architectural guidelines into robust, scalable, secure and maintainable solutions.
- Design delivery strategies and contribute to application architecture decisions.
- Guide teams in implementing solutions and adopting development best practices.
- Mentor and support developers to foster professional growth and team autonomy.
- Actively participate in detailed design, development, integration, testing, deployment and application support activities.
- Conduct design, configuration and code reviews to ensure compliance with quality, security, performance, scalability and maintainability standards.
- Collaborate closely with architects, business analysts, quality specialists, operations teams and technology partners to ensure solution consistency and delivery success.
- Analyze complex technical challenges, lead major incident resolution activities, perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in delivery planning, effort estimation and management of risks, dependencies and technical impacts.
- Contribute to continuous platform improvement by proposing optimizations related to performance, stability, automation, observability and DevSecOps practices.

Required Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant software development experience.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience working with the Guidewire platform.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a technical leadership, lead developer or application architecture role.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
- Guidewire ACE certification.
- Expertise delivering complex Guidewire solutions.
- Experience with REST, SOAP, XML and JSON services.
- Strong proficiency with Guidewire, Gosu and Java.
- Solid understanding of application architectures, integrations and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD practices and source code management tools.
- Knowledge of the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
