Role Description The Teacher role is a full-time, on-site position based at Sikh Academy in Surrey, BC. The Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the BC Curriculum, incorporating Sikh values and Punjabi language where appropriate. Daily responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, teaching classes, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The Teacher will maintain a positive classroom environment, communicate regularly with families and colleagues, and participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with the ability to support diverse learners.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training to design and implement effective instructional activities.
- Excellent Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and staff.
- Relevant teaching certification and qualifications as required in British Columbia.
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students, preferably Kindergarten to Grade 9.
- Understanding of or openness to learning Sikh values and Punjabi language integration in the classroom.
- Ability to create an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills and reliability in managing classroom responsibilities and school duties.
